Patrol division

This division is the starting point for every CHP trooper. This division focuses on doing patrols around the county and responding to 911 calls.

SORT (Strategic Operations Response Team)

SORT is an elite tactical team of some of CHP's most combat proficient troopers. SORT is only deployed for high risk emergencies such as criminal deployments, high rates of crime, and hostage rescue.

SEO (Special Enforcement Operations)

SEO is a subdivision of CHP troopers that handle emergencies that require assistance from aviation units, maritime units, and motorcycle units. SEO patrols in helicopters, boats, and motorcycles around the county. SEO will also assist with pursuits on land or water.

Public Affairs Division

The public affairs division focuses on hosting QNAs and recruitment events. Our public affairs troopers also host a lot of other events from stand up comedy events to car shows!
